Superb Hotel with fabulously friendly, helpful staff. I enjoyed an overnight stay with my mother for her birthday. The location is perfect with tower bridge and south bank promenade at your fingertips, a short walk away the shard and culinary delights at borough market, we enjoyed it all.
My son is a student at Fairfield University and this hotel is very convenient to the school. Rooms were very clean and well equipped. My only complaint would be that the lighting was poor in the bathroom. As a woman trying to apply make up and get ready it was difficult. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back and will be my first choice in the future.
I had a wonderful stay at the best western black rock. Check in and check out was a breeze. The rooms have been updated and decor of the rooms makes it feel like you're staying in a major hotel. The staff was helpful with any questions we had. Would absolutely recommend to anyone needing to stay in the Fairfield Connecticut area.
Great location that accepts pets (we traveled July '17 with a German Shepard, $20 pet fee) with well priced rooms. Ample parking and a hot breakfast included. Room was spacious with a comfy bed and plenty of pillows, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because our air conditioner wasn't controlling humidity.
Stayed there the night of 9/13/17, checked in around 9:30pm. Two co-workers and I were doing some out of town work and ended up having to stay there for the night. Our company paid for the room but had to put the hold for incidentals on a debit card. The woman informed us that it would take 2-3 business days to return the money. So I said to a co-worker "it's funny how they can't wait to take your money immediately but are very relaxed with putting it back?" The woman behind the desk then proceeded to catch an attitude and explain to me that's because we used a debit card. So I said I don't see the difference, because if they can find a way to take it quick, they are more than capable of putting it back just as quickly. So she gets even more rude and spoke with an offensive tone saying "well sir if you don't like it take it up with your bank." At that point I was beyond upset that she butted into my conversation and turned it into an argument. If it had been on my done, I would've gone to a different hotel but rest assured, I will never spend my money at another Best Western if they support the employment of such employees.
